All those old X11 fonts

Not sure if this has been discussed here before, but would it be a good idea to store all those old X11 fonts in a repository here too?

Just seems to make sense that people will then be able to view the themes as they were intended with all the puzzle pieces in one place.

The DR16 era is a snapshot of GNU/Linux history. I'm sure that's why this repository exists and those fonts seem to be part of that history.

just a suggestion :)

Epplets & Desktop buttons

Are epplets still being developed? And what's the official word on desktop buttons (like the ones in NiX, 23Oz etc...)

Themes and Things

Well...

After a considerable time-out I figured it was time to get my theme hat back on and try to rectify a few of the old issues. I have made a fair few themes over time and some of them could do with some tidying up. One of the most prominent examples of this is the widget set in Phlat, those are the most mouse illusive widgets I have ever made. There are also some graphical issues that need some serious cleaning up, as well as all those things that I'm just not happy with.

There are also a few other themes that never made a release.

Urban Futuristic
Steel Circus
CarbonEsque
Bare Minimum (Working Title)

All of these themes were being saved for the release of DR17, but as most of the work has already been done I figured I may as well get them up together and share them with everyone.

On top of this a new standard is emerging, which means it's time to iron out as many issues as possible regarding font compatibility. Back in the way back we all just threw the fonts in regardless of character sets. No one seemed too bothered about users machines either. I'm notorious for creating themes with fonts that only I had, either that or a heavy dependency on the artwiz collection. It's things like this that I'm looking to fix.

Audacious themes

I have added e16 matching audacious themes to the repository a little while ago (not sure if anyone noticed). They are now available as downloadable packages.

See the audacious page for download and install instructions.

When to create a user account

I haven't had much time to spend on the site lately. I have been noticing that there are some "bots" or "kiddie" scripts that have been trying to abuse the site, however.

Due to this, I have changed account creation to require administrator approval. Sorry for the inconvenience.

User accounts are only needed if you intend to post content or get involved with modifying/adding themes in the SVN repository.

My plans for this site were never for social networking, so unless you plan on getting involved with theming, you shouldn't need to create an account here. Just enjoy the themes. ;-)
